An opportunity to explore the Martinborough Wine Region whilst your cruise ship is berthed in Wellington. A tour which will offer you some fine New Zealand wines in a relaxing atmosphere of some boutique wineries coupled with some spectacular scenery through Wellington, The Rimutaka Ranges and the Wairarapa Region of New Zealand.
Spend your morning exploring the city highlights that New Zealand’s capital city and home to Parliament has to offer. Wellington is nestled between a magnificent harbour and surrounded by a natural amphitheatre of forest-clad hills.
This tour travels north east from Wellington towards Martinborough, one of New Zealand’s renowned wine growing regions. Firstly you will pass through the Hutt Valley and through the remarkable and majestic Rimutaka Ranges as your tour director points out relevant history to sites and landmarks.
You will stop briefly at Featherston for coffee (at guests own cost), after refreshments you will continue your tour to Martinborough where you will have the opportunity to visit 2 vineyards before stopping for your light a la carte lunch. At completion of your lunch you will visit another two vineyards before travelling to Greytown – Rediscovered and revived in the late 1990s. You will have 30 to 40 minutes at your leisure to explore chic cafes, boutiques, galleries and antique shops. Before returning to Wellington your final stop will be at Schoc – Chocolate shop.
Tour commencement times: Wellington Cruise Terminal at 9.00 am
Tour conclusion times: Wellington Cruise Terminal at 5.00 pm
