Coronet Peak, the South Island’s most popular mountain resort is just 20 minutes from Queenstown. Fans have flocked here to enjoy winter sports for more than 60 years.
Families and enthusiastic newcomers continue to revel in the cosmopolitan atmosphere, fantastic views & diverse rolling terrain providing challenges & hidden delights for all ability levels. A multi-million dollar investment in 2009 has transformed this much loved mountain, resulting in its elevation to true world-class status. The stunning new base building provides fantastic facilities and hosts magnificent views. A sense of arrival is embraced via a new entrance level which makes getting to the slopes easier and quicker than ever with a logical progression through the on-mountain services. Upstairs, the cafe, restaurant and bar areas open to a massive sheltered deck. A brand new, state of the art, fully automated snowmaking system helps Mother Nature in the provision of consistently good skiing and riding from early June till the end of September.
The day starts here early with First Tracks from 8am and on weekends finishes late with Night Skiing on Fridays and Saturdays until 9pm.
Don’t miss the European style Heidi’s Hut at Rocky Gully for gourmet pizzas, pasta, fantastic coffee and other Italian style delicacies as well as tasty mulled wine from the bar.
Coronet Peak has 280 skiable hectares accessed by a six seater express chair, an express quad, a double chair, a t-bar, 2 surface conveyor lifts and a beginners handle tow.
There’s a dedicated Dirty Dog terrain park and the mountain’s longest run, the M1-Big Easy is 2.4 km long and popular with intermediate and advanced skiers and riders. An award-winning ski and snowboard school and children six and under ski enjoy FREE day passes.
